The Circle Show is loosely based on The Hula-Hoop Show, Dizzy Hips popular show seen all around the country and the world. It features enchanting acts and beautiful ukulele-hoop-dance singing of Tika Hoops, the amazing hoop acts, Physical comedy, comedy juggling, contortion, rubberbands, card throwing, whips, singing saw, stunts and tractor tire hooping of Dizzy Hips, plus musical guests, variety guests, tandem and lots of surprises including one that involves audience members and a giant hoop!
The Hula-Hoop Show is Dizzy Hip's popular show seen all around the country and the world. It is available in unspoken (20 minutes) and spoken forms.
Karma Carnival is a carnival that is part Guinness World Records try-outs and part talent show/ variety show. It is also dedicated to raising money for charities.
TIKA HOOPS sings, plays ukulele, dances and hoops her way into the hearts of audiences everywhere. Tika is a visual artist, dancer, musician and hooper of Javanese decent who grew up on the island of Bali. When she was 15 her mom took her to modeling school to balance out her tom-boy tendencies. To everyone's surprise- especially her own- she went on to win the Miss Asia Model title in Singapore. A year later she was was introduced to hooping which allowed her to express her passion for Javanese and Balinese dance.
Tika grew up playing music and singing with her step father. He could never have known then, but is delighted to know now, that she adapted her musical talents to the art of hooping. She plays ukulele and sings with her sweet and lilting voice whilst hooping.
At the age of 19, she left her tropical paradise home (though Bali was then over-run by the new-age elite tourists) to move to Alaska. There, she fell in love with a new kind of nature and wilderness. Her art blossomed in the open spaces, among supportive, down to earth friends and fellow odd-ball hoopers.
Tika often works with world reknown mask-maker Zarco Guerrero in Phoenix, who has been a tremendous influence on her style of performance and artist apporach to hooping (and life). Tika also worked with Laura Scarborough of Mag Hoops and is one of the first hoopers to master these amazing hoops. Tika Hoops has worked hard and studied hard to create her beautiful, unique and mezmerizing acts.
When Tika met Dizzy they immediately collaborated well together- a hooper's version of "love at first sight". They knew they had something special and shared a common goal to amaze, delight and inspire... with healthy portions of doing good and giving back!
DIZZY HIPS produces, directs, writes and performs in the show. Tika directs Dizzy Hips. Audiences everywhere are charmed, thrilled, amazed, baffled and inspired by Dizzy Hip's oddball mix character and talents. He's been described as mixures of Steve Martin, Mr Bean, Jackie Chan and Barishnakov (by people who didnt know a lot about Barishnakov) if all those entitiies could have been ground down to their powdered essence, mixed with mayonaise, and added to Dizzy's tuna fish since birth. Dizzy has a unique ability to blend low and high brow arts for much more than a medium brow...somewhere between true youtube moments of "hooping awesomeness" and a night of Cirque du Soliel. As you watch a Dizzy Hips show beware, you may lose track of who you are, where you come from and the current date.
Dizzy Hips, AKA The Hula-Hoop Man (AKA Paul Blair) has entertained audiences of every kind, in over 20 countries. He's been on dozens of TV shows ( Jay Leno, Steve Harvey, Good Morning America, National Geographic, Guinness World Records China and Italy, MTV, ESPN, Univision and more) and performed for over 30 fortune 500 companies.
In gym class in third grade Dizzy got 2nd place in the hula-hoop contest... and he's been trying to make up for it ever since! At least that his excuse for his incurable obsession with hoops.
As it turns out this strange obsession proves to be the perfect avenue for Dizzy's quirky yet amazing skills and abilities.
Known for his many Guinness world records and crazy stunts (seen in Guinness Records and Ripley's Believe it or Not!), people are surprised to learn that Dizzy first started and as dancer with professional and semi professional companies including Ratna Roy's Orissi Dance Company and Musha Wa Tamba (Afro- Carribean) from Boulder, CO.
Originally from the Snake and Salmon rivers region of Idaho state, Dizzy is a country boy at heart, which might explain the tire and probably also explains why he goes out of his way to book shows towns and cities adjacent to awesome wilderness, great fishing and restaurant that serve dishes made with potatos.
